Digital Film Showcase Mentoring / Education

Over the last five years BossCrowns has mentored and trained over 900 participants (young film enthusiasts) in various communities across the UK through their digital video showcase.

The overall theme of the showcase was to empower individuals to go out and tell their stories using the medium of film, video and TV.

"You Live and You Learn" is a 5-minute film born out of the Barking Digital film showcase that Wayne had been running since 2001. "You Live and You Learn" is directed and produced by talented 13 year old Andre Glasgow and written by 16 Andrew Whitney. This short film was entirely produced by students aged 8-16 and deals with a current madness of phone theft. The film was recently shown at The Childrens Fund event in Barking, and was hosted by Richard Blackwood.

"Lenny Doesn't Listen" is a short film (20 min) that explores issues relating to domestic violence, made by participants from 'BossCrowns Productions Digital film showcase' written by and starring Carl Ramsey. The digital film showcase was produced and headed by director, writer and producer Wayne G Saunders who worked with and trained the participants into the basic aspects of a digital film production which took place in Tottenham N17 area. Wayne was awarded a JUNP Community Chest Grant to run the 2 weeks-digital film course (workshops). He was so impressed with one of the students Jason Cover at the time 19 years old that BossCrowns took Jason on as a trainee Camera/operator to work on the 'The System' and other productions. Jason say's "Its all about the dedication and commitment".
